Communication meeting about the check service for checking invalid checks of Bank Al-Maghrib
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Laayoune-Sakia El-Hamra, in partnership with Bank Al-Maghrib and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Laayoune-Sakia El-Hamra region, organized on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the headquarters of the House of Culture of Laayoune, a communication meeting for the benefit of its affiliates and economic operators of the region, on the theme “Invalid Checks Control Service”.
This meeting aims at presenting this service, which is part of the initiatives taken by the bank to contribute to the improvement of the business environment, which would strengthen the mechanisms currently adopted to avoid and fight against the illegal use of checks. This would enable traders and entrepreneurs to check the validity of cheques presented for payment of transactions.
In his intervention, the director of Bank Al-Maghrib Laâyoune branch, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Abou Chikhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ChekInfo, added that the service of centralizing invalid cheques is added to the current system that Bank Al-Maghrib in order to protect the users of cheques and to centralize the indices of performance of cheques and other information, which gives traders and businesses the possibility to verify the validity of the cheque used.
Next, Mr Radwan Hannoun, Sales and Business Development Manager of ChekInfo, gave a comprehensive presentation, stressing that the service allows for immediate verification of cheque validity and thus significantly reduces the risk of non-compliance.
The invalid cheque centralisation service is based on data collected daily in the banking system, and this information includes all events related to the cheque, such as bank or court bans, exposure and fraud, or those related to bank accounts, such as non-use or closure.
At the end of the meeting, the discussion was opened and the speakers answered questions and enquiries in the framework of the communication to improve the proximity policy.
